Why Vietnam?
Increasing disposable incomes, rapid urbanization, and rising living standards have led to Vietnam becoming one of the most dynamic economies in the Southeast Asia region. Vietnam’s retail market grew at a healthy double-digit rate of approximately 10% year-on-year surpassing the growth levels of all other neighboring Asian countries.
Population of over 90 million in the golden period and a growing middle class.
Economic reforms and opening with sectors such as retailing being liberalized to attract foreign investment.
Amongst the highest internet penetration in south-east Asia with almost 32 million having broadband access.
Vietnam has boosted trade links by engaging in many trade agreements, most notably The UK-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (UKVFTA) and the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP). The signing of the UK-Vietnam Strategy Partnership also emphasizes a commitment to free trade and open markets for the mutual benefit of both countries.
