n the first half of 2023, they paid taxes of VND 3,944 billion online, said the tax agency.

To date, 57 foreign service providers have registered to pay tax online in Viet Nam. Among them are Meta (Facebook), Google, Microsoft, TikTok, Netflix, and Apple that account for up to 90 percent of the market share in the field of cross-border e-commerce.

The General Department of Taxation’s portal https://etaxvn.gdt.gov.vn/nccnn/Reques was exclusively developed for foreign suppliers.

Viet Nam is one of the four countries leading ASEAN in terms of applying cross-border tax collection through one portal.

Tax authorities will continue to create maximum favorable conditions for foreign suppliers and domestic organizations so that they can expand operations in Viet Nam.

On the other hand, they will apply strict sanctions and handle organizations that intentionally commit tax violations in accordance with law.
